Phoebe Pan’s Biography

Phoebe PanHailed by international jury members as a dynamic player with gracious technique; at age 13, Phoebe Pan is already a seasoned performer and have performed on the stages such as Carnegie Hall & Steinway Hall in New York. She has also have soloed with orchestras such as the SYMF Orchestra and Irvine Classical Players Orchestra. Phoebe is invited to the summer program of the prestigious Lake Como International Piano Academy in Italy this August.

Winner of numerous prestigious piano competitions such as Grand Prize at the Tureck International Bach Competition for Young Pianists, 1st Place at the Seattle International Piano Competition, 1st Place at the International Russian Music Piano Competition, second prize at the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, and most recently awarded the Silver Medal at the Schimmel/Bosendorfer International Piano Competition.

Phoebe loves to share her piano music with audiences in senior centers and private functions and believes music is what connects people in difficult times. In 2008, Phoebe and her friends staged a Charity Benefit Concert to help the Children in Sichuan, China, after the devastating earthquake there, and raised over $13,000 in one evening.

Phoebe is currently an 8th grade student at Pioneer Middle School in Tustin. She began her formal piano training when she joined Opus119 School of Music in Irvine at age of 7 where she studied with Ms. Jenny Shin; master Classes with William Grant Nabore, Sergey Schepkin, Ariel Yang, Li Fei-Lan, Ling Yuan and Li Qi-Fang. Phoebe is currently studying under the direction of Ethan Yi Dong at Opus119’s Conservatory Program.

Aside from playing piano, Phoebe swims competitively and plays flute in her school orchestra band. She enjoys math, reading, writing, and any research-related project. Phoebe aspires to be an artist or a scientist when she grows up.
